A Greeneville man who decided to spend the night on a relative's couch at a house on the Asheville Highway woke up at 6 a.m. Thanksgiving morning missing some expensive jewelry, sheriff's Deputy Rick Williams said in a report.
The victim said he was awakened by his cell phone ringing and noticed "items missing from his neck," the report said.
Missing items included a white gold wedding ring on a nylon necklace, valued at $550, and a 10-karat gold solid rope chain with a gold nugget with 14 diamonds, worth $3,500.
Others in the house were uncooperative when asked who took the jewelry, the report said.
Possible male and female suspects are named in the report.
