Most local governmental offices will be closed Tuesday in observance of the New Years holiday.
All offices in the Greene County Courthouse and Courthouse Annex will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013.
The Greene County Clerk's office will be closed Saturday, Dec. 29, and Tuesday, Jan. 1.
Closed on Tuesday, Jan 1, will be the James H. Quillen United States Courthouse and the Social Security office.
Greeneville Town Hall will be closed on Jan. 1.
The town halls in Baileyton and Mosheim will be closed on New Year's Day, Tuesday, Jan. 1.
The Tusculum City Hall will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 1.
GARBAGE SCHEDULES
For garbage collection, all county convenience centers may close early on New Year's Day if the containers are full before 6 p.m., the usual closing time.
The Town of Greeneville Public Works Department will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 1.
Garbage normally collected on Tuesday will be picked up on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
The Greeneville-Greene County Transfer Station and Demolition Landfill will observe Tuesday, Jan. 1, as a holiday. Normal hours of operation of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
POST OFFICE, UTILITIES
The U.S. Post Office will close at noon on Monday, Dec. 31. Mail will be delivered.
The Post Office will be closed Tuesday, Jan 1, and there will be no mail delivery.
The Greeneville Light & Power System will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 1.
The Greeneville Water Department will close at noon on Monday, Dec. 31, and will be closed all day Tuesday, Jan. 1.
OTHER OFFICES
Closed on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 31 to Jan. 1, will be the Tennessee Department of Human Services and the Greene County Health Department.
The Greene County Partnership will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 1.
The Greeneville-Greene County Public Library will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 31- Jan. 1.
The University of Tennessee Agricultural Extension Service office will be closed through Friday, Dec. 28, and will reopen on Monday, Dec. 31. The office will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 1.
The YMCA of Greene County will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 1. The YMCA will close early, at 7 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 31.
The Boys & Girls Club of Greeneville & Greene County will be closed Monday, Dec. 31, and Tuesday, Jan. 1.
The Greeneville Sun edition of Tuesday, Jan. 1, will be a morning issue, and the office will be closed that day for the New Year's holiday.
