Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who was a leading candidate in the 2008 Republican primary for president, will be the speaker at the Greene County Republican Women's Club 2014 Lincoln Day Dinner.
Huckabee became a household name during his race for the White House, winning Tennessee's vote in the Republican primary contest.
The national political analyst, talk show host and author will speak at the General Morgan Inn on Jan. 31, according to Club President Joy Rader Nunnally.
"A limited number of tickets -- 340 -- can be sold," Nunnally said.
The cost is $150 per ticket.
Word that a national political speaker would appear at the upcoming event has already prompted some ticket sales even before those purchasing the tickets knew who was coming, she said.
"I've got one [person] flying in from Colorado, and I've got one flying in from Missouri," Nunnally added.
"The Lincoln Day Committee has worked hard on achieving getting Mr. Huckabee here. It's a once-in-a-lifetime thing."
More details of the evening's dinner and speaker will be published as they become available.
