Local women 18 to 24 are invited to compete for Miss Greene County 2013, who will be crowned Saturday, Oct. 13.
The Miss Tennessee/Miss America preliminary competition will begin at 7 p.m. in what is a new location for the event.
Miss Greene County will be crowned in the Chuckey-Doak High School Auditorium.
As part of the Miss America Organization, the Miss Greene County organization is searching for a talented, beautiful, respectable, service-minded queen to represent Greene County in the 2013 Miss Tennessee Scholarship Pageant.
The local winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship and qualify for the opportunity to win more as she participates at the state level.
In addition to Miss Greene County, two other young women will be crowned - Miss Greene County Outstanding Teen and Teen Princess, both categories for girls 13-17.
These younger titleholders will represent Greene County as they compete at the state level in March 2013.

There will be special guest appearances by the current titleholders: Miss Greene County 2012, Sara Mitchell; Miss Greene County Outstanding Teen, Naomi Boling; and Miss Greene County Teen Princess, Kayla Thornton.
Jerry Scott and Brittney Chambers-Bible will provide the entertainment.
The emcee duties will be furnished by former Miss Greene County, Brooke Waddell-Pancratz.
