More Candidates File Petitions

Jenkins, Tucker, Taylor, Harrison, Kiker, Waddell, Randolph, Seay, Johnson, Burgner To Run For Office

Several more candidates have filed petitions with the Greene County Election Commission for the May 6 County Primary Election and Charter Commission Election.

Douglas T. Jenkins, of 183 W. Caney Creek Road, Rogersville, has filed a petition to run for the office of Chancellor in the Third Judicial District.

This district includes Greene, Hamblen, Hancock and Hawkins counties.

Jenkins was appointed chancellor in July by Gov. Bill Haslam.

He will run in the Republican primary.

Dale B. Tucker, of 3835 Horton Hwy., Greeneville, has filed a petition to run for County Commissioner in the 1st Commission District.

This district includes the precincts of Baileyton, Baileyton Corporation, Woodlawn, Hardins, Lost Mountain, Union Temple, West Pines and Cross Anchor.

Tucker will run in the Republican primary.

Jason A. Taylor, a detective sergeant with the Greene County Sheriff's Department, has filed a petition to run for County Commissioner in the 2nd Commissioner District.

This district includes the precincts of Forest Hills, Chuckey-Doak, Chuckey, Jockey and Newmansville.

Taylor will run in the Republican primary.

Sheila Harrison, of 129 Williamson Valley Road, Chuckey, has also filed a petition to run for County Commissioner in the 2nd Commissioner District.

Harrison will run in the Republican primary.

Jan M. Kiker, of 102 Greybark Lane, Greeneville, has filed a petition to run for County Commissioner in the 3rd Commissioner District.

This district includes the precincts of Tusculum North, Tusculum South, Tusculum Corporation, Tusculum View and East View.

Kiker is currently serving in her second term on the commission.

She will run in the Republican primary.

Frank Waddell, a sergeant with the Greene County Sheriff's Department, has filed a petition to run for County Commissioner from the 6th Commissioner District.

This district includes the precincts of McDonald, Warrensburg, Mohawk, Mt. Carmel, Midway, Mosheim and Mosheim Corporation.

Waddell will run in the Republican primary.

James A. "Buddy" Randolph, a detective lieutenant with the Sheriff's Department, has filed a petition to run for County Commissioner in the 7th Commissioner District.

This district includes the precincts of Orebank, Mt. Pleasant, High School, Highland Roby, Andrew Johnson and Glenwood.

Randolph will run in the Republican primary.

Hilton A. Seay, of 2516 Old Kentucky Rd. W., Mosheim, has also filed a petition to run for County Commissioner in the 7th Commissioner District.

Seay has served on the County Commission since 1996. He is chairman of the commission's Republican caucus.

He will run in the Republican primary.

The Election Commission has also verified these petitions for the Charter Commission Election.

Walter Johnson, of 1590 Earnest Road, Chuckey, has filed a petition to run for the Charter Commission from the 1st Commissioner District.

This district includes the precincts of Baileyton, Baileyton Corporation, Woodlawn, Hardins, Lost Mountain, Union Temple, West Pines and Cross Anchor.

Daniel E. Burgner, of 115 Birds Bridge Rd., Greeneville, has filed a petition to run for the Charter Commission from the 4th Commissioner District.

This district includes the precincts of Flag Branch, Courthouse, Greystone and Sunnyside.

Petitions are available at the Greene County Election Commission Office, located on North Main Street.

The qualifying deadline for the May 6 County Primary/Charter Commission Election is noon, Feb. 20.
