Photo special to The Greeneville Sun
The Greeneville-based John Hunt Morgan Camp 2053 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans presented a painting of General Morgan to the Dickson-Williams Mansion recently. The painting is by local artist Caroline Blanks and has been called the best painting of the General by leaders of the Morgan's Men Association. Pictured at the unveiling of the painting are, left to right: Roy King Lt. Camp Commander; artist Caroline Blanks; Sarah Webster of the Dickson-Williams Association; Tim Massey, Morgan Camp Commander; Wilhelmina Williams of the mansion; and County Commissioner Bill Moss. The painting is being displayed in the Morgan bedroom at the mansion, where the famed Confederate cavalry leader spent the last night of his life.
