A mother and her son were arrested on numerous counts of forgery early today after allegedly cashing checks stolen from another family member.
According to warrants on file at the Greene County Sheriff's Department, Teresa Miller and Brandon Carl Miller, of 131 Widow Hollow Road, cashed a number of checks at Porter's Grocery.
Teresa Miller was served with warrants alleging nine instances of forgery and theft under $500.
Brandon Miller was served with seven warrants for forgery.
Bond for each forgery count was set at $2,500. Teresa Miller's theft under $500 charge had an additional $500 bond.
The warrants state that Teresa Miller took the checks, which belonged to another family member, and wrote them payable to Brandon Miller, who then cashed them.
The two were transported to the Greene County Detention Center. An initial court appearance was scheduled for Friday.
