More than a dozen wild turkeys gathered in this western Greene County field near dusk on Sunday, enjoying the weekend’s pleasant weather after the snow and ice of Thursday and Friday. Wild turkeys are not uncommon in Greene County, and can be heard even if not seen. According to National Geographic, a male turkey’s gobble can be heard for up to a mile away.
