Outage Causes Wreck

Sun Photo By Steven K. Harbison

A two-vehicle accident caused by a power outage resulted in minor injuries, according to Greeneville Police Lt. Alan Dotson, who witnessed the accident. Andrew Mitchell, driving the overturned red Ford truck, was driving westbound on 11E and Robert Venerable, driving a white truck, was pulling out of the Lowe's parking lot when the traffic lights shut off as a result of the power outage, causing the collision, Dotson said. Dotson was traveling east toward Johnson City when he observed the accident. Traffic flow was stalled but had been restored by 8:15 p.m.
