Anthony Southerland, the passenger in the pickup truck involved in a fatal collision with a train here on Thursday, remained in serious but stable condition late Friday afternoon.
Southerland, 48, continues to be a patient at Johnson City Medical Center, where he was flown by Wings Air Rescue, said hospital spokeswoman Teresa Hicks.
Southerland, of Mosheim, was riding in a 1995 Toyota pickup truck driven by Brock Humphreys, 41, of Greeneville, who was killed when the Norfolk Southern train crashed into the driver's side of the pickup.
The collision occurred at about 1:05 p.m. Thursday at the railroad crossing near 1100 West Irish St.
