CVS Pharmacy received final site plan approval for a new location at 506 Asheville Hwy. during a called meeting of the Greeneville Regional Planning Commission on Tuesday.

The commission met at 9:30 a.m. in the G. Thomas Love Boardroom in the Greeneville Light & Power System building to review the plat, which had been adjusted 10 feet inward on a side setback.

The commission had granted approval earlier this month to the 1.9-acre site plan subject to submission of the plat containing the changes.

According to the plat and information provided by First Tennessee Development District Planner Ronda Sawyer, CVS purchased the previous location of American Patriot Bank, as well as some land adjacent to the property.

However, property owner JoAnn Whittenburg decided against selling a 10-foot portion of her residential property in order to maintain an additional side setback that Sawyer said will become a green space buffer zone.

This decision required the change to the plat, which the commission unanimously approved.
