Police, Deputies Enjoy Relatively Quiet Halloween

Local law enforcement agencies report few tricks on Halloween.

Vandalism was apparently at a minimum in the county, sheriff's deputies said.

One vandalism incident with a Halloween connection was reported Thursday to Greeneville police.

Someone spray-painted a trash container and spray-painted graffiti on pavement at the Oak Grove Cemetery, at 414 North Main St., Officer Tina Janeway said in a report.

Damage totals about $100.

Cemetery officials told officers that the damage "had been done over the past few days," the report said.

The report said the offender painted on the dumpster, "I'll be back on Halloween."

Cemetery officials requested extra patrols on Halloween.
