Current and prospective Girl Scout volunteers are invited to Leaderfest, described as an inspirational and informative event in Maryville, to be held Aug. 10.
Leaderfest offers support for troop leaders and other helpers, including workshops on a variety of topics, such as songs, ceremonies, outdoor cooking, crafts, community service projects and games for all ages.
A special session will address troop basics, including the changes to the Girl Scout program over the past few years.
Registration for the event costs $10; an optional box lunch is available for $5.
Each attendee will receive various samples and a resource booklet. Vendors from area attractions and services will be on hand with information and activities.
The deadline to register is Aug. 2.

The event takes place at Maryville First United Methodist Church, 804 Montvale Station Road, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Door prizes will be awarded.
