The amount of January rainfall or snow in Greene County was ever-so-slightly above normal, according to the University of Tennessee Research and Education Center at Greeneville.
The center, located on East Allens Bridge Road, reported 3.66 inches of rainfall and melted snow this month.
That's a scant 0.13 inches above the average January rainfall level of 3.53 inches, the center reported.
Rain or snow fell on 15 days in January, according to the center.
The most precipitation -- .63 inches -- fell on Jan. 21, the center reported.
A half-inch fell on Jan. 12, followed by .48 inches on Jan. 22, .35 inches on Jan. 18, and .3 inches on both Jan. 9 and Jan. 27.
A quarter-inch fell on Jan. 13, the center reported.
Precipitation was recorded on the first three days of the month, followed by a series of wet days from Jan. 8 through Jan. 13.
Other wet days were Jan. 18, 21-24, and 27, according to the center.
February has gotten off to a wet start with rain throughout much of the day on Wednesday.
Friday is expected to be cloudy, with showers likely on Saturday.
Sunday's forecast calls for a 30 percent chance of rain.
