As a way to promote Presidents Day, which is being observed today, Andrew Johnson National Historic Site Park Guide Daniel Luther, above, gave a Powerpoint presentation on Saturday entitled, “Tennessee’s Presidents: Notable Achievements with Unintended Consequences.” The presentation focused on Tennessee’s three presidents: Andrew Jackson, James K. Polk and Andrew Johnson. The presentation showed how Johnson’s two predecessors pursued policies that led to the Civil War. The program was scheduled to be presented again at 1 p.m. today at the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site.
