Fire safety tips will be presented by Craig Bowlby, a firefighter with the Greeneville Fire Department on Thursday, Nov. 21, at Roby Fitzgerald Adult.

This free lecture, titled "Holiday Safety and Other Hot Spots," will begin at 10 a.m., at the senior center, at 203 N. College St., across from Greeneville Town Hall.

The public is invited to attend at no charge.

"These are very timely subjects to discuss because of the upcoming holidays with extra cooking and family in your home," a news release about the program says.

During his talk, Bowlby will also discuss proper use of electricity and other points for holiday decorating, the release says.

The firefighter will also have a fire simulator that will allow participants at the program to actually follow the steps in extinguishing a fire, the release adds.

The program is being presented by Laughlin Memorial Hospital, in conjuction with Roby Center, as part of the monthly Passport 55 health lecture series.

For additional information about Passport 55, contact the Laughlin Health Care Foundation at 787-5117.
