The Greene County Purchasing Committee unanimously approved several low bids on Monday in a meeting at the Greene County Courthouse, following a session of the County Commission.

The committee approved the following bids:

* $123,586 for a used rubber-tire loader from Nortrax, of Kingsport. Bids for a new rubber-tire loader also came from Nortrax and Finley LLC, of Gray.

* $17,801 for 39-cubic yard rolloff compactors for the Solid Waste Department from Bakers Waste Equipment, of North Carolina. Other bids came from Municipal Equipment, of Louisville, Ky., and Big Orange Sales, of Knoxville.

* various pricing on guardrail for the County Road Department, with the same costs for the items to be delivered as for the department to pick them up, from Tennessee Guardrail, of Knoxville. A b id also came from Highway Markings, also of Knoxville.

* $12,395 for a flex-wing rotary cutter from West Hills Tractor, of Jonesborough. Other bids included ones from Meade Tractor, of Greeneville; Ritchie Tractor, of Maryville; and, Wells Tractor, of Greeneville.
