Karen G. Palmer, 55, of 145 Stanley Valley Road, Rogersville, was picked up Sunday and charged with felony counts of reckless endangerment and evading arrest in connection with a June 20 incident, sheriff's Deputy Greg Tipton said.
After receiving an alert from authorities in Jefferson County to be on the lookout for a maroon vehicle, Palmer was seen driving northbound on Interstate 81 at a high rate of speed, the report said.
Deputies positioned themselves on the shoulder of the road and laid out spike strips to stop the vehicle. Palmer drove past on the right-hand shoulder of the road, passing "within inches" of a patrol car and other vehicles on I-81, the report said.
Palmer allegedly continued northbound on I-81 about 10 miles at a high rate of speed, veering into the right and left shoulders of the roadway, until losing control of the vehicle and crashing in a median, the report said.
Bond was set at $20,000.
