Roofing Material Taken From Forest Street Site

Roofing metal valued at more than $2,700 was stolen between Sunday night and Monday morning from the Courtyard Apartments, at 717 Forest St., Greeneville police Officer Christopher Metcalf said in a report.

An employee of James Mottern Construction of Johnson City, which owns the metal, reported the theft.

Taken were 29 pieces of gray standing-seam metal, 12 feet in length. Also stolen were 20 pieces of gray standing-seam roofing metal, 10 feet in length.

The theft remains under investigation.
