Sun Photo by Sarah Gregory
Just as forecast by the National Weather Service, the persistent rain of the last few days turned suddenly to snow at mid-afternoon as temperatures dropped. The big flakes quickly began piling up on the streets and roads as well as on every other exposed surface. The NWS is predicting a possible accumulation of 2-4 inches for Greene County, with the possibility of several more inches in the mountains. A more dangerous threat is the potential for black ice on the streets and roads. This photo was taken on West Summer Street about 3:30 p.m.
