Scrap Metal Turns Up On The Same Road

Scrap metal stolen between Thursday and Friday morning from farm property in the 3000 block of Cedar Creek Road turned up Friday in the back of a pickup truck parked on the same road, sheriff's Sgt. David Beverly said in a report.

The victim told deputies he saw the truck parked by a house on Cedar Creek Road and spoke to the truck owner, who told him he loaned the truck to another man. The truck owner told the victim he would remove the metal from the truck and leave it for the owner, the report said.

When the metal owner returned, only a "couple pieces" were left on the ground and the truck was gone, the report said.

The metal is valued at $160. A possible male suspect is named in the report.
