Harold Smith has filed to run for re-election in Mosheim's 1st Ward Alderman race.
Smith, of 207 Spring Street North, has served as an alderman for nearly 35 years.
R.L. Carpenter has also filed to run in Mosheim's unexpired-term 2nd Ward Alderman race.
Carpenter, of 5355 W. Andrew Johnson Hwy., has served as a Mosheim alderman since July 2012 to fill the position vacated by the death of former-Vice Mayor Claude "Junior" Weems.
He agreed to fill the position until this election, which will take place on June 4. The election will determine who holds the seat for the remaining two years of the unexpired term.
Vice-Mayor Thomas "Tommy" L. Gregg Jr. has also filed in Mosheim's 2nd Ward Alderman race, although he is filing for a seat that has a full, 4-year term opening.
Typically, only one alderman is elected within each two-seat Ward every two years.
The qualifying deadline for the election is at noon on Thursday, March 21.
