The driver of a motorcycle was hospitalized as the result of a collision with a truck late Friday afternoon in the 3100 block of the Asheville Highway (Tenn. Rt. 70).
The crash was called in at 5:17 p.m., according to Greene County 911 Dispatch.
The location is reportedly a short distance south of the intersection of the Asheville Highway and Debusk Road.
Traffic on the Asheville Highway was temporarily diverted around the site of the accident while emergency personnel were working there, but the highway was cleared as of 8:40 p.m., according to Kevin Crawford, of Nashville, a spokesman for the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Crawford said that the injured motorcycle driver was transported to Johnson City Medical Center.
The Tenneseee Highway Patrol is investigating.
Responding to the accident, in addition to the THP, were the Greene County Sheriff's Department, the Greeneville Emergency & Rescue Squad, Greene County-Greeneville Emergency Medical Services and the Debusk Volunteer Fire Department.
Further details about the crash were not available as of 9:15 p.m. Friday.
