Sun Photo by Lauren Henry
The bright sunshine and blue skies this week have allowed the remaining fall foliage to “pop” with intensity at some times of the day. This photo was made from the lawn of the Dickson- Williams Mansion, looking down West Church Street toward Main. Church Street is a part of the downtown area that has retained a good deal of fall color on its ginkgo trees as the Thanksgiving holiday — and with it, cooler temperatures — draw near. The holiday also brings the Annual Community Thanksgiving Service, sponsored by the Greeneville/Greene County Ministerial Association. The service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at the Greeneville Seventh-day Adventist Church, on the Asheville Highway. Attendees are asked to bring canned goods for the Food Bank.
