Training For Disaster Response

Sun photo by Ken Little

In the foreground, Greeneville Police Chief Terry Cannon, at left, confers with county Emergency Management Director Bill Brown (center, in green shirt), and Ken Fritts, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency area coordinator, at the incident command center during a multi-agency disaster exercise Wednesday night at Laughlin Memorial Hospital. The training scenario for the drill involved armed individuals who shot a number of people in the hospital, including police officers responding to the shooting call. Along with the GPD and Laughlin Hospital, other participating agencies included the Greeneville Fire Department, Greene County-Greeneville Emergency Medical Services, Greene County 911, and the Greeneville-Greene County Emergency Management Agency. A critique session is scheduled today.
