BULLS GAP -- The holidays got off to a festive start Sunday when Bulls Gap held its annual tree-lighting ceremony and Christmas Parade.
On Saturday night, two trees located next to Town Hall were lighted and a short message was delivered by the Rev. Faith Ramer, pastor of First United Methodist Church.
After that ceremony, refreshments were held at Bulls Gap Community Center, along with a gospel concert by the Over Home Boys.
On Sunday, the annual Bulls Gap Christmas Parade was held, on a beautiful clear sky.
First-place in the float competition went to the office of Hawkins County Court Clerk Sarah Davis. Bulls Gap Baptist Church won second place, and Jug's Place Restaurant won third place.
The parade was topped by the appearance of Santa and Mrs. Claus.
