A truck driver who paid two people to watch her dog and various items of personal property while she was on the road told sheriff's deputies on Wednesday that the animal and property were stolen between Jan. 1 and 10, a report said.
The victim told deputies she was paying the man and woman $100 a month to "watch her dog and store her personal items" at a Union Road address.
The victim became aware in January that the woman had moved to Washington State and the man had also moved, the report said. She has been unable to make contact with either person.
The dog is a greyhound-golden retriever mix, valued at $100.
Also taken were two Remington .22 caliber rifles, valued at $130 each; an automatic pistol, worth $180; an antique desk, valued at $800; three collector plates, worth a total of $300; and photos and framed photos, valued at $200.
