A 34-year-old Chuckey woman was charged Monday with a felony count of prescription fraud after allegedly trying to fill a prescription "of a known deceased person" at a local pharmacy, Greeneville police Officer Kevin Guinn said in a report.
Kelly Frances Black, of 200 Dinwiddie Road, was charged Monday afternoon after trying to fill the prescription at Greene County Drug, 906 Tusculum Blvd.
Police received a call of a woman trying to fill a prescription for oxycodone written for Black's mother, who died on July 2, the report said.
Black's 9-year-old daughter was with her in the pharmacy. The state Department of Children's Services was notified, the report said.
Black had "what appeared to be dried blood from needle marks on her left arm," the report said.
Bond was set at $15,000 by Judge Kenneth Bailey Jr. Black's first General Sessions Court appearance is set for Wednesday.
