Billie Jo Shelton, 35, of 1000 Stonegate Road, Kingsport, was charged Tuesday with driving under the influence and other offenses following a wreck in the 9000 block of Kingsport Highway, sheriff's Deputy Travis Hoxie said in a report.
After field sobriety tests were performed, Shelton was taken to Takoma Regional Hospital, where she showed signs "consistent with someone under the influence of an intoxicant," the report said.
A search of the vehicle and purse turned up suspected marijuana, three glass pipes and a syringe, the report said.
Witnesses told deputies that Shelton did not want police called "and walked away from the wreck," the report said.
Shelton allegedly refused to have blood drawn at the hospital, the report said.
She was additionally charged with violation of the implied consent law, driving on a suspended license-second offense, simple possession of a Schedule VI drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bond was set at $6,500. Shelton appeared in court Wednesday.
