The squeal of tires alerted a friend and employees of a domestic assault incident at Zoomerz Market in Mosheim between a Jonesborough couple, according to a report by the Greene County Sheriff's Department.
Heather Bailey, 37, of 118 Hilbert Circle, Jonesborough, was arrested on Dec. 13 after witnesses said they heard the squeal of tires and saw the woman's husband lying in the parking lot, according to the report filed by Deputy Brandon Baskette.
The man reported to police that he and a friend followed his wife after she left the house with their two-year-old and had been "acting strange."
According to Baskette's report, Bailey "did drive her vehicle recklessly into her husband ... causing injury to his foot and ankle area and also his hand."
The friend who accompanied the husband said he saw the man approach his wife's vehicle and later heard the squeal of tires before turning to find his friend lying in the parking lot as Bailey drove away.
Heather Bailey was stopped and arrested by police on the West Andrew Johnson Highway, near Cherokee Street, while her husband was transported to Laughlin Memorial Hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.
