Woman Reports $21,000 Missing From Lock Box

An investigation continues into the theft of at least $21,000 in cash from a house in the 9600 block of Lonesome Pine Trail, sheriff's Deputy Jeff Caudill said in a report.

The theft occurred between March 19 of last year and Thursday. The victim told deputies that, following the death of her husband last year, she found a lock box in the house containing the cash.

The money in the lock box was kept in the house hidden inside another container. Cash has been gradually disappearing from the lock box over the past six months, the victim told deputies.

The victim told deputies she returned home several times to find her doors unlocked.

A possible female suspect and a possible male suspect are named in the report.
