Candidates have filed more petitions with the Greene County Election Commission for the May 6 County Primary Election and the Aug. 7 State Primary Election.
A petition was filed for the office of Circuit Court Judge, Part 1, in the Third Judicial District for the County Primary Election.
Linda Thomas Woolsey, of 3104 Charlie Doty Road, Greeneville, filed that petition on Monday.
This district includes Greene, Hamblen, Hancock and Hawkins counties.
Woolsey will run in the Republican primary.
There have also been two petitions filed for the Aug. 7 State Primary Election.
David B. Hawk, of 407 Crockett Lane, Greeneville, has filed a petition to run for re-election to the Tennessee House of Representatives' 5th District seat.
This district includes most of Greene County, except for the precincts of Caney Branch, McDonald, Mohawk, South Greene and portions of Warrensburg and Orebank.
Hawk is currently serving his sixth term in the House of Representatives and will run for re-election in the Republican primary.
Fred L. Myers Jr., of 138 Iris Place, Newport, has filed a petition to run for election as State Executive Committeeman in the 1st Senatorial District.
This district includes Greene, Cocke, Hamblen and Sevier counties.
Myers will run in the Republican primary.
Petitions are available at the Greene County Election Commission Office, located on North Main Street.
The qualifying deadline for the May 6 County Primary Election is noon, Feb. 20.
The qualifying deadline for the Aug. 7 State Primary Election the is noon, April 3.
