From The Greeneville Neighbor News

The Tourism Department of the Greene County Partnership, along with its Sports Council, will host the 2013 Festival of Trees, Nov. 17-27.

The Festival will take place in the Greeneville Commons shopping center between Southern Belle Bridal and Q-nails at 1321 Tusculum Boulevard.

Prospective participants are asked to set up their tree/wreath/centerpiece or topiary on Nov. 12-15, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., prior to the Open House.

The Open House will be Sunday, Nov. 17, 2-4 p.m. Refreshments will be served, and bidding will begin.

Bidding will take place Monday through Friday, Nov. 18 - 22 and on Nov. 25, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 23, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and on Sunday, Nov. 24, 1-5 p.m.

Bidding will end on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at noon.

All entries/purchases must be removed by noon on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

The public will also be invited to vote for the “People’s Choice,” and prizes will be awarded.

Individuals and groups are encouraged to decorate and donate the items, which are then sold or auctioned off during the event.

“Festival of Trees is awesome ways to kick off your joyous holiday season by seeing all of the beautiful ideas come together,” said Nicole Rader, a member of the organizing committee.

“Seeing all of these wonderful and gorgeous decorations for Christmas will get everyone into the holiday spirit. I love this time of year, and this is just a kick start for me.”

Admission to the Open House on Sunday will be one canned food item that will be donated to the local Food Bank.

Event sponsors are Food City and DTR Tennessee.

Committee members are Nicole Rader, Nicki Sentelle, Rhonda Humbert, Sharon Hughes, Sharon O’Neal and Tammy Kinser.

For more information, call Nicole Rader at 423-787-8753 or Tammy Kinser at 423-638-4111.

For an entry form or questions, please contact Rader at 423-787-8753 or Kinser at 423-638-4111.
