The Greeneville-Greene County Humane Society depends on donations to operate, each year having several fundraisers to help take care of the animals and meet the need for supplies. Here the non-profit organization shares their wish list.

First on our “wish list” are items for dogs and puppies. Canned dog food, dry dog and puppy food, dog toys, raw hide chews and puppy milk replacer are some of the items needed.

For our cats and kittens, we need canned cat food, dry cat or kitten food, non-clumping litter, cat toys, and kitten milk replacer. You will probably hear all the meows, saying “thank you.”

Next on our "wish list" are items that are needed on a daily basis and are important to cleanliness to keep everyone happy and healthy. GGCHS washes many loads of laundry each day, so laundry detergent and fabric softener are items that are used daily.

Bleach and disinfectant cleaners are important to our cleanliness too. We also use a large amount of paper towels. Keeping our volunteers and staff with clean hands is important, so anti-bacterial soap liquid refills) liquid hand sanitizer and dish detergent are needed.

Remember the Humane Society when you have old blankets, quilts, bedspreads, comforters, mattress pads (non electric), towels and wash cloths. These are items that we use daily to keep our animals comfy and clean.

Office supplies are always in need, including black ink pens, copy paper, paper clips, index cards and notepads.
Last on our list are aluminum cans. We have a big bin and it is easy to just run up on the hill and drop cans off. Proceeds from recycling goes back to help our animals. (We also take old used ink cartridges so don't throw those away. Bring them to GGCHS.)

We are excited to share our "wish list" with everyone. Many people often ask us what we need, so here you go.

There are local businesses and organizations that do collection drives for these items, so if your business or organization would like to adopt us and collect items from our "wish list," just let us know.

Come visit the adoption center when you get a chance. We would love to see you.

For more information about our "wish list," call 423-639-4771.

Please “opt to adopt" pets at our Center. We are sure we have your next friend just waiting for you!
