GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Fifth Annual Greene County Toys for Tots run will be Dec. 1, hosted by Clubhouse Custom Cycles and the Marines.
The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.
Individuals are invited to bring a new, unwrapped toy or $10 to participate the day of the event.
Toys for Tots will distribute the toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in Greeneville.
Toy Run will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Big Lots parking lot, 1475 E. Andrew Johnson Highway. Signup will begin at 1 p.m., with the motorcycle Ride to leave at 2 p.m.
The Toys for Tots Toy Run has been a constant in Greene County, since 2007 when GySgt. Eric Baker, USMC, and David Caldwell, owner of Clubhouse Custom Cycles, started the event.
Both men from western North Carolina said they saw positive effects from the Asheville toy runs and wanted to create similar success here in Greeneville.
