From The Greeneville Neighbor News

Currently celebrating their 47th year, the award-winning Tennessee Tech Tuba Ensemble is one of if not the most successful performing collegiate ensembles in history.

As part of their 2014 unprecedented eighth appearance at Carnegie Hall in New York tour, they will be appearing at Greeneville High School on Friday, Jan. 31, at 10:00 a.m.

The free public performance will include a wide variety of music from transcriptions of early music to contemporary compositions composed especially for the TTTE including selections featuring selected soloists.

The TTTE was recently selected by The Tennessee Board of Regents to receive the prestigious TBR Academic Excellence and Quality Award.

The TTTE is the only performing ensemble in the state of Tennessee to receive this award.

Recognized internationally as the leading group of its kind, the TTTE has a record of twenty-six recording projects, seven Carnegie Hall appearances and  two World’s Fairs performances.
The subject of several doctoral dissertations, the TTTE most recently enjoyed wide-spread exposure via a nationally broadcast PBS documentary, entitled “TUBA U: Basso Profundo.”
