Sabrina: A Dog's Tale

From The Greeneville Neighbor News

By Janet Medcalf

In May, 2013, a litter of stray puppies were found and brought to the Greeneville Greene County Humane Society.

All pups were quickly adopted except for one female pup we named Sabrina.

It’s now been eight months and Sabrina is still waiting to be adopted.

Sabrina is a sweet precious dog that has never known anything except the routine of living at the Adoption Center.

We hope that by sharing her story, the perfect person or family will come visit and fall in love with her.

Sabrina is approximately one year old.

She is a yellow lab mix that has grown into beautiful, sleek, lovable girl.

Other possible mix guesses are basenji, terrier, greyhound, or whippet.

How interesting it would be to know about her mix.

Her tail curls up and around on her back which makes her very unique.

A curled tail is known to be a sign of a very smart, independent dog.

She is a beautiful off white color with speckles dotting her face and legs.

Sabrina has long beautiful legs and loves to play tag and run in the yards.

She bounces and gets down on her front legs as if to say, hurry and chase me.

Running circles around you is her favorite game and you can’t help but smile at how excited she gets when our volunteers and staff take the time to be with her.

With patience and a little training, we also think she would be a great running partner.

She loves to be around people and gets sad when she's not getting attention. Sabrina is very smart and does well with routine.

She likes a clean kennel so house training should come easy.

Due to her high energy, we believe a perfect home would be one with a fenced in yard for playtime or one where her owner would love taking her for walks.

We think Sabrina wants nothing more than a home where she can play, share her love and get lots of attention.  Sabrina has been completely vetted, which includes her spay surgery, microchip, vaccinations and vet exam and has a reduced adoption fee too.

Come spend some time with Sabrina, take her for a walk and fall in love.

We invite everyone to come visit Sabrina and our other adoptable dogs and cats at our adoption center.

The dogs love to go for walks and the cats enjoy playtime in our cat room while they are patiently waiting for someone to adopt them.

Our adoption center is located at 950 Hal Henard Road.

Our hours are Monday through Friday 11-5 and Saturdays 11-4.

You can view our adoptable animals online on our Facebook page, Friends of Greeneville-Greene County TN Humane Society or our website at
