Terrier Tinker Is Ready for Adoption

Originally published: 2013-11-13 08:49:27

From The Greeneville Neighbor News

By Janet Medcalf

In July 2013, Tinker found herself in a very scary situation. She was a sad stray dog in a cage at animal control.

The only time she didn’t seem sad as she lay in her cage was when employees and volunteers would speak to her and pat her on the head.

Tinker was always ready to give a wiggle and wag of the tail when she was given attention.

Amy Bowman, manager of the Greeneville Greene County Humane Society’s Adoption Center, could tell that Tinker was a sweet girl with lots of love to share, so she brought her to the Humane Society, where Tinker could be vetted and placed up for adoption.

Tinker is approximately 2 1/2 years old and is a wirehaired terrier mix. She is a beautiful brown with black trim on her back and around her ears. She has a black diamond on her forehead.

Tinker is a small dog that weighs about 15 pounds.

Tinker loves to run and play in the yards at the Humane Society and especially loves to play with her toys.

She loves to be around people and gets sad when she's not getting attention. Tinker enjoys sitting in laps and going for walks.

She also loves wearing sweaters, and everyone thinks she looks awfully cute in them.

Tinker’s perfect home would be one with a fenced in yard for play time or one where her owner would love taking her for walks.

We think Tinker wants nothing more than a home where she can play, share her love and get lots of attention.

Tinker has been completely vetted, which includes her spay surgery, microchip, vaccinations and vet exam and has a reduced adoption fee.

Come spend some time with Tinker, take her for a walk and fall in love. We invite everyone to come visit Tinker and our other adoptable dogs and cats at our adoption center.

The dogs love to go for walks, and the cats enjoy playtime in our cat room, while they are patiently waiting for someone to adopt them.

The Greeneville-Greene County Adoption Center is located at 950 Hal Henard Road in Greeneville. Hours are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

You may view our adoptable animals online on our Facebook page, Friends of Greeneville-Greene County TN Humane Society, or on our website at
