NASHVILLE – The Greeneville High School boys' cross country team successfully defended its Class A/AA state championship Saturday afternoon at the Percy Warner Park Steeplechase Course.
The Devils finished with 93 points to finish ahead of Martin Luther King (108) and Central Magnet (110). A total of 24 teams competed.
Greeneville junior Wesley Pectol placed third in the individual results with a time of 16:38.44. Chuckey-Doak senior Simeon Roberts also earned All-State honors with a 12th place finish.
In the girls' state meet earlier in the day, Greeneville placed ninth and South Greene 12th. GHS junior Hannah Rhodes came in ninth as an individual.
