MORRISTOWN -- Greeneville Middle School continued their high-scoring ways Tuesday night with a 48-7 romp over East Ridge in Middle-8 Football Conference play at Burke-Toney Stadium.
The Greene Devils rushed for 291 yds. and added 133 yds. through the air on the night.
Hayden Shuffler scored two touchdowns and rushed for 160 yds. in six carries to lead the offense. Andrew Duckworth also scored two touchdowns and rushed for 51 yds. on seven attempts. Nash Newberry scored a touchdown and a pair of two-point conversions for the Devils. Takeem Young picked up 70 yds. on only three attempts.
Newberry was accurate passing as well, hitting 9-of-11 passes for 133 yds. and a touchdown. Dylan DeBusk had the touchdown catch, an 80 yd. bomb.
Jake Tillery caught a pair of passes and a two-point conversion toss. Grayson Reed and Holden Guinn each had one catch for the Devils.
Donavan Barner also had a big night with four catches for 42 yds. and an 85-yd. kickoff return for a touchdown.
Defensively for Greeneville Middle, Cody Hartness came up with six tackles while Demarcus King had four tackles and an interception which he returned 34 yds. Tee Anderson, Leau-Alston Williams, Evan Grooms and Ethan Ellis each registered four tackles.
The GMS junior varsity will play on Monday at home to East Ridge. The varsity will take on West View at home on Tuesday night.
