The high school football regular season came to an end Friday night, but for two Greene County teams, they move on to play another week.

Greeneville and Chuckey-Doak learned their postseason paths Saturday morning as the TSSAA released the playoff brackets for its eight football classifications.

Both schools are No. 2 seeds in their respective classifications.

Greeneville finished the regular season 10-0 and will take on District 2-AA foe Grainger (4-6) in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs.

The two teams met earlier this season, with the Devils scoring 35 points in the second quarter en route to a 70-7 victory.

Chuckey-Doak, a No. 2 seed in Class 3A, will host a Johnson County team that also got into the playoffs with a losing record (4-6).

The Black Knights (7-3) have been one of the hottest teams in the area as of late, winning their last four regular season games by a combined 157-70 margin.
