Lady Black Knights Use Strong Defense, Riddle Goals In Win

The Chuckey-Doak girls' soccer team traveled to Grainger last night and brought home a 2-1 victory.

The Lady Black Knights improved to 8-3 overall and 4-1 in region action with the victory. They are scheduled to host Fulton Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Chuckey-Doak struck first in the 33rd minute when Alicia Phillips sent a through ball to Hannah Riddle, who got past the Grainger defense and found the back of the net.

The Lady Black Knights increased their lead to 2-0 three minutes into the second half on another goal from Riddle. Phillips once again had the assist.

Grainger cut the deficit in half in the 70th minute, but Chuckey-Doak's defense held fir for the victory.

The Lady Black Knights were led defensively by Katie Bishop, Kellie Renfro, and Megan Saba. Keeper Ashley Anderson made nine saves.
