The Chuckey-Doak Lady Black Knights coasted to an 8-0 shutout victory over district foe Cumberland Gap Panthers at home Thursday.
C-D was led by senior striker Hannah Riddle who pumped in five goals, giving her 21 goals on the season, while sophomore Alicia Phillips added two goals and junior Alicia Gill chipped in one goal.
The Lady Black Knights opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a lofted shot by Riddle, then doubled the lead ten minutes later when Riddle stole the ball off the Panther defense and buried a shot into the net.
In the 28th minute Riddle completed the hat trick when Mauren Pickle sent a ball into the box that Riddle headed past the keeper for the 3-0 C-D lead. In less than a minute the Lady Black Knights added a fourth goal from Phillips who blasted the ball into the top corner that ended the first half scoring with C-D up 4-0.
Two minutes into the second half Riddle added her fourth goal of the evening and her fifth goal in the 50th minute. Phillips put another shot into the upper corner in the 56th minute for the 7-0 C-D lead, then Gill lofted the final goal into the net in the 73rd minute to end the game at 8-0 in favor of the Lady Knights.
