The Chuckey-Doak Lady Black Knights and the Elizabethton Lady Cyclones split in soccer action Monday with the Cyclones winning the varsity match-up 9-1 while the Lady Black Knights won the junior varsity contest 3-0.
The only highlight for C-D in the varsity contest was a goal from Hannah Riddle in the 11th minute, her 27th of the season, which breaks the regular season record. That goal tied the score at 1-1.
The score was tied until the 25th minute and from then on it was all Lady Cyclones tallying eight unanswered goals.
In JV action Bethann Burns tallied two goals and Sandi Castle one goal to lead C-D to the 3-0 victory.
The Lady Black Knights drop to 8-5 on the year, 4-3 in district action, and are home today for the Annual Shriners Game. Pre-game festivities begin at 4:45 with kickoff set for 5:00. All proceeds from Tuesday's game will be given to the Shriners Hospital in honor of soccer team family members Riley Dean and Ty Wilhoit.
