Nominations are now being taken for the 2012 inductees into the Greeneville High School Sports Hall of Fame.
Nomination forms are available at the main office at Greeneville High School, and they will be available soon at http://www.ghs.gcschools.net, or from Hall of Fame committee members.
All nominations must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7. This year's induction ceremony will be held Friday, Oct. 26, at 4 p.m. at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center.
The Greeneville High School Sports Hall of Fame Committee is an organization established to honor outstanding sports figures. Those elected will be honored at the induction ceremony and their picture will be added to the GHS Hall of Fame, located inside GHS.
The criterion for selection to the Hall of Fame includes a nominee must be of good moral character; they must have made an outstanding contribution in the field of athletics, whether it be as a participant, coach, promoter, organizer or a person otherwise involved; athletes nominated must have been graduated from GHS for at least 10 years; they do not have to be a current Greeneville or Greene County resident; and they may be nominated and elected posthumously.
