Three Greene County football teams have advanced to the TSSAA post-season playoffs and will continue their seasons on Friday night.

The two-time defending state champion Greeneville Greene Devils will be at home Friday to take on the Gibbs High Eagles of Knoxville in a first round contest at Burley Stadium in the Class 4A playoffs.

The Greene Devils (7-3) are the No. 3 seed in the Class 4A Quadrant 1 while Gibbs (6-4) is seeded No. 6. Livingston Academy is the top seed in the Quadrant will be home to Grainger, the No. 8 seed, Friday.

A victory by Greeneville Friday would send them to a second round game on Nov. 9 against the winner of Friday's Knox Carter vs. Knox Fulton game. Fulton is seeded No. 2 and Carter is the No. 7 seed.

The highest seed in each quadrant is host.

The Chuckey-Doak Black Knights and West Greene Buffs have advanced in the Class 3A playoffs and both will begin their quest on the road Friday.

The Black Knights (6-4) are No. 5 seed and will play at No. 4 seed Gatlinburg-Pittman (6-4). West Greene (5-5) is No. 6 seed and will play at fellow Blue Ridge Conference foe Cumberland Gap (7-3), seeded No. 3.

A win by the Knights would put them in a second round game against either Elizabethton or Johnson County. A victory by the Buffs would earn them a game against either Sullivan North or Unicoi County. Elizabethton is seeded No. 1 in the Quadrant and Sullivan North is second seed.

All playoff games begin at 7 p.m.
