Tusculum College and UNC Pembroke played to a scoreless draw in a women's soccer matchup of regionally-ranked opponents Wednesday afternoon at Pioneer Field.
The Pioneers (4-1-1) finished with a 19-11 advantage in shots over the Braves (3-0-1), led by Tramicka James who attempted 12 shots on the UNC Pembroke goal.
Tusculum had the best scoring chance of the first half, but UNC Pembroke keeper Britney Bennett made back-to-back stops on Taylor Lewis and Courtney Hackney to preserve the scoreless tie.
James came closest to scoring for either team in the match in the 70th minute, as she took a give-and-go pass from Monica Perez and rang a shot off the left post.
James had a rising shot just miss the crossbar in the last minute of the first overtime period, and Jana Linke was stopped by Bennett on a free kick from 30 yards with six minutes remaining in the last shot attempt for either team.
Marissa Williams notched her third straight solo shutout with four saves for the Pioneers.
