Youth District Tourney Results

Rockin' & Firin'

Greeneville's Bradley Seaton rocks and fires from the mound Monday night during the 10-11 District Little League Tournament under way at Hardin Park. Greeneville beat Rogersville 13-11 in extra innings. Several district tournaments are being played this week at the park, and action will resume tonight.

Results from Greeneville Parks & Recreation youth league all-star teams in tournament play:

10-11 DISTRICT

The District 10-11 District Little League Tournament is being staged at Hardin Park's Optimist Field, and Greeneville went seven innings before outlasting Rogersville 13-11 Monday night.

Cameron Key was winning pitcher in relief. Ethan Broyles swatted a triple and double, while Bradley Seaton, Kevin Sanchez, Jake Lawing and Brandon Smith each contributed a single to the attack. Trenton Carr had three hits for Rogersville.

Morristown American won over Smoky Mountain 18-4 in the second game played Monday in the 10-11 Tourney.

9-10 NATIONAL

It was a heartbreaking tournament for Greeneville National 9-10 baseball team as they made the minimum number of trips to the Field of Dreams in Dandridge over the weekend.

The Nationals were plagued by the error bug and couldn't recover even after outhitting their opponent 22-11 in two games.

Chris Everhart and Braden Spano pitched the first game against the Greeneville Americans and combined for 11 strikeouts. Spano boomed a homer and a double and Carson Whaley and Turner Bailey added three singles each in a losing effort for the Nationals as the Americans won 9-8 in a classic cross-town barn burner.

In game two against the Morristown Nationals, Greeneville National once again made too many errors and was defeated.

Skylar Cox held Morristown to one hit through four innings. Alex Maupin led Greeneville at the plate with a double and single, Turner Bailey had two singles and Ryan Moorehouse added a double.

9-10 SOFTBALL

Greeneville hosted the 9-10 Softball District Tournament at the Old Field in Hardin Park.

On Friday Morristown National defeated Greeneville 22-2. Jordan Sigler had three hits and Macey Hefner a double and single for Morristown. Greeneville had no hits, but Harlee Bailey and Kaitlyn Tipton scored runs for the locals.

In Monday's games at the Old Field, Greeneville remained alive with an 8-6 win over South Jefferson. Harlee Bailey was winning pitcher. M. Silvers had a double and Baleigh Rambo a single for Greeneville.

Morristown National defeated Morristown American 13-3 Monday.

11-12 MAJOR SOFTBALL

The New Field at Hardin Park is the site for the 11-12 Major Softball District, and on Monday Smoky Mountain and Greeneville advanced in a big way.

Smoky Mountain raced by South Jefferson 22-16 in the opener.

In the second game Greeneville coasted past Rogersville 20-1. Emilee Starnes was winning pitcher. Top hitters were Jada Hensley with a homer, triple and single, Kaylee Valentine with a homer, double and single, Taylor Campbell with two triples and a single, and Krystin Cantrell, Emilee Starnes and Lindsey Wilburn with singles.

7-8 COACH PITCH

In the 7-8 Coach Pitch being played at Rotary Field, Smoky Mountain and Greeneville American advanced on Monday.

Smoky Mountain knocked off Greeneville National 12-6. Landon Wright led Greeneville with a home run while Brian Green and Tucker Brown each tripled.

Greeneville American defeated South Jefferson 19-9. Preston Justice had a homer and triple, Miguel Sanchez a siingle and two doubles and Eli Garber a single, double and triple for the locals.

SENIOR SOFTBALL

In regular season games Friday at the New Field, Grasshoppers edged Blue Jays 4-3 in the first game. Micaela Wykle and Chrysta Long each had three singles for the winners.

In the second game Blue Jays rallied for a 15-4 win. Kortni Stills had a double and two singles while Paige Haire, Taylor Haire and Christy Taylor each had a double and single. Hope Ottinger smacked two doubles for Grasshoppers.

13-14 JUNIOR BASEBALL

At Dale Alexander Field Friday, Dakota Packaging won by forfeit over Jimmi Jons, while Quality Construction won by forfeit over Jimmi Jons.

PEE WEE LEAGUE

In one Pee Wee game played Friday at Lions Field, GMS General Contractors posted a 15-9 win over East Tenn. Mfg. Hunter Burkey with a homer and single, TJ Buckner with a double and triple and Ty Harris with a single and triple led the winners. Hayden Emmett had a triple and two singles and Evan Hall a triple and single for ETM.
