BURLINGTON, N.C. -- Greeneville used some timely hitting and solid pitching to pick up a 4-1 Appalachian League road victory over Burlington on Thursday night.
Greeneville starter Angel Gonzalez allowed one run and four hits in six innings while striking out five for his fourth win of the year. Joan Belliard struck out four in three hitless, scoreless innings for the save.
Jonathan Meyer led the Astros' eight-hit night.
He went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run.
Five of Greeneville's eight hits were for extra bases. Jiovanni Mier, Ryan Humphrey and Kyle Miller each had a double.
Greeneville (24-38) is at Burlington (22-41) again tonight and Saturday.
The Astros return home on Sunday to close out the season with a three-game home stand against Princeton.
