Murphy R. Silver Jr., 56, of Mosheim, formerly of Asheville, N.C., died Thursday at Signature HealthCARE of Greeneville.

He was a musician.

Survivors include a daughter: Kassie Silver Messer of Greeneville; a granddaughter: Danielle Owens of Greeneville; three sisters and a brother-in-law: Margaret Holland of Mosheim, Wanda Ball of Mars Hill, N.C., and Jackie and Arvelle Freeman of Weaverville, N.C.; two brothers; Tom Silver of Asheville and Don Silver of San Bernardino, Calif.; several nieces and nephews; a special friend to the family: Danny Owens of Greeneville; and a special brother-in-law: Robert Jaramillo of Asheville.

He was preceded in death by a son: George Delbert Silver; and his parents: Sally (Dyer) and Murphy Silver Sr.

There will be no formal service. A private memorial will be scheduled for a a later date.
